Billing & Subscriptions — Help Center

Buying credits, Stripe payment flows, workspace access, and payment troubleshooting.

How do workspace credits relate to chat and email usage?

Chat, email, connectors, and deliverables all draw on one shared workspace credit wallet. There is no separate meter per surface.

Credits are consumed by:

  • Project chat agent turns
  • Email my agent Q&A and deliverable generation
  • Report generation and other heavy tool runs
  • New project bootstrap, reserved at creation time and settled when it completes

If credits are exhausted, chat blocks or warns in-app, and email replies with an Add credits message when the pre-flight check fails.

Owners manage purchases and auto-refill in Account → Billing. Members should ask an owner to add credits when blocked. Check Account → Usage for what the balance was spent on.

For the full explanation of what spends credits, why amounts vary, and how reserves settle, see Credits & Usage in this help center.

How does pricing work?

You buy credits, and credits pay for AI work. There is no per-seat subscription and no per-feature gating.

What you are buying:

  • A one-time credit package, purchased by an owner from Account -> Billing. Credits are added immediately and never expire.
  • Larger packages - Core, Foundation, and Bedrock - include bonus credits on top of the credits you buy.
  • Optional threshold auto-refill, so the wallet tops up on its own instead of running dry mid-project.
  • Pilot is a short one-shot evaluation with no auto-renew.

Because access is workspace-wide, adding a teammate does not add a recurring charge. Cost tracks the AI work your team actually runs, which you can inspect in Account -> Usage.

Exact pricing, contract terms, and procurement questions should go through info@precisiondocs.ai.

What is the Pilot and what happens when it ends?

The Pilot is a short, fixed-length evaluation. It does NOT auto-renew and it does NOT auto-convert to a paid plan — you are never charged automatically.

The workspace owner receives an email before the pilot end date, and the app shows a reminder as the date approaches.

When the pilot period ends:

  1. The workspace deactivates automatically — no data is lost; projects, documents, and chat history persist.
  2. Signing in shows a pilot recap (days used, projects, AI work consumed) with a recommended credit package.
  3. To continue, the workspace owner purchases a one-time credit package (Core, Foundation, or Bedrock) via Stripe Checkout. Credits stack, never expire, and there is no subscription — access is restored immediately after payment.

You can also upgrade at any time during the pilot from Account -> Billing -> Upgrade to full access.

Contact info@precisiondocs.ai if you need procurement help, custom terms, or billing-contact coordination.

I see a "subscription will end" banner - how do I keep my subscription active?

This banner applies to workspaces on a recurring subscription. Credit-wallet workspaces have no subscription to renew - credits are prepaid and never expire - so they never see it.

If an owner turns off auto-renew in PrecisionDocs, the app shows a banner at the top of every page during the grace window with the deactivation date.

To re-enable auto-renew:

  1. Open Account -> Billing.
  2. Turn Auto-renew back on.
  3. The banner disappears on the next page load.

The Stripe Portal is for payment methods, invoices, receipts, and billing details. Plan changes and auto-renew controls stay inside PrecisionDocs so the app can keep workspace access and Stripe subscription items in sync.

If you let the grace window expire, the tenant auto-deactivates and you fall into the same "must explicitly resubscribe" path as Pilot. No data is lost - projects, documents, and chat history persist; you just cannot access them until the subscription is reactivated.

How do I control who can use workspace credits?

Credits are shared across the workspace, so access is managed per member rather than by buying and assigning license slots.

Granting access:

  • Invite the person from Account -> Organization. Once they join and are active, they can use the shared credit pool.
  • Adding a member does not add a recurring charge. What your team spends is driven by the AI work they run, not by headcount.

Removing or limiting access:

  • Owners suspend or remove a member from the Access roster in Account -> Organization.
  • A suspended or removed member immediately loses workspace access and can no longer spend credits.
  • Historical usage stays attached to the member who ran it, so Account -> Usage remains accurate after someone leaves.

Limiting an integration rather than a person: owners can set optional daily and monthly credit caps on an individual API key in Account -> API keys, so one connector cannot consume the whole wallet.

Legacy workspaces still on a per-user license subscription continue to manage license quantities in Account -> Billing and assignments in Account -> Organization, with reductions scheduled for the next renewal.

How do I manage payment methods and billing history?

Use Manage Payments in the billing section to open the Stripe customer portal.

Use the portal for billing administration:

  • Update payment methods
  • Review invoices and receipts
  • Manage billing details tied to your subscription

Buy credits and configure auto-refill inside PrecisionDocs rather than in the portal. The app coordinates credit grants, refill packages, and the wallet balance, so those controls stay in Account -> Billing.

What happens if we need more than we bought?

You buy more credits. Because the wallet is prepaid, there is no bill that grows behind your back - work stops rather than running up an unexpected charge.

Two ways to keep working:

  • Add credits in Account -> Billing for a one-time top-up. Credits land immediately and never expire.
  • Auto-refill, which adds a refill package automatically when the balance drops to a threshold you set. It is triggered by balance, not by a calendar date.

Owners can monitor total spend, and spend per project and per member, in Account -> Usage. If a team consistently drains the wallet faster than expected, that view shows which projects and which activities are driving it.

Legacy workspaces still on a per-user license subscription instead use opt-in additional usage above each assigned tier's included allowance.

Why are my purchased credits or plan change not showing yet?

Purchases and plan changes require Stripe confirmation before PrecisionDocs adds the credits or applies the change.

Typical causes:

  • Checkout or payment confirmation was not completed.
  • Stripe is waiting on invoice payment, bank authentication, or a retry.
  • The browser returned before the Stripe webhook finished syncing the subscription.

What to do:

  1. Refresh Account -> Billing after payment completes.
  2. Check whether Stripe is asking for payment authentication or a new payment method.
  3. If the change still does not appear, contact support with the organization name, billing email, and the credit package or plan change you attempted.

PrecisionDocs does not grant credits or apply a plan change until Stripe confirms the payment, so nothing is credited that was not successfully paid.

What should I do if a payment fails?

Payment failures are handled through Stripe so your payment method and invoice history stay in one place.

Recovery steps:

  1. Open Manage Payments from Account -> Billing.
  2. Update the payment method or complete any required card authentication.
  3. Retry or pay the open invoice in Stripe if one is available.
  4. Return to PrecisionDocs and refresh the billing page.

If the tenant becomes inactive because the subscription could not be collected, projects and documents are retained but access is gated until the subscription is reactivated or the invoice issue is resolved.
